DC Council holds youth hearing this weekend
If you have something to say about the much-talked about South Capitol Street Tragedy Memorial Act (aka "the truancy bill"), here's your opportunity. This weekend, the DC Council is holding a special public oversight meeting on youth issues before the Committee of the Whole. The hearing will be held on Saturday, June 11, at 10 a.m. at the Wilson Building (Here's a WAMU story about the last hearing on the South Capitol bill.)
If you wish to testify, you can register at www.dccouncil.us/youthhearings. Witnesses must be registered by the close of business on Thursday.
This is from the Council's notice: Written testimonies are strongly encouraged and will be made a part of the Council’s official record. Witnesses interested in submitting written testimony are requested to either provide 20 copies of their testimony on the day of this hearing or submit one copy by Thursday, June 9, 2011.
Written testimony should be submitted to the Council’s Office of Youth Programs, located at the John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Suite 11, Washington, D.C. 20004, or emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
