Event: Virtual Town Hall, Wednesday, August 26 at 6 pm
The COVID-19 pandemic is dramatically changing how DC out-of-school time and early child care programs will operate during the new school year.
Join us tomorrow evening, Wednesday, August 26 at 6 pm on Zoom as families and District officials discuss how out-of-school time and early childcare programs play a critical role in ensuring that children are safe, supported, and provided with multiple opportunities to grow and thrive.
Families will share their experiences with the city programs and highlight their needs for the upcoming school year, which begins virtually next week. DC agency officials from the Deputy Mayor of Education, the Office of the State Superintendent of Education, and DC Public Schools will share their plans for virtual learning and stick around to hear directly from the community.
Have a question for District officials or parents? Submit them by NOON on Wednesday, August 26 to Samaura Stone at firstname.lastname@example.org
In addition to parents, speakers from DC Agencies include:
- Mila Yochum, Executive Director, Office of Out of School Time Grants and Youth Outcomes, Office of the Deputy Mayor for Education
- Thomasin Franken, Manager, Partner Engagement, School Improvement Division, Office of School Improvement, DC Public Schools
